Welcome to Obsessed Haircare Australia (obsessedhaircare.au). The following policies set out how we handle your personal information, the terms on which we sell our products, and how we get your order to you. By using our website or placing an order with us, you agree to these policies.

Privacy Policy

Obsessed Haircare respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

In this policy, "Obsessed Haircare", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the entity operating obsessedhaircare.au. If you'd like our full legal and contact details, please reach out via our contact form.

2. The personal information we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business. Depending on how you interact with us, this can include:

  • Contact and identity details – your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and (for trade customers) your salon name, ABN and professional accreditation.
  • Account information – login credentials, order history, wishlists and preferences.
  • Transaction information – the products you buy, order totals, and payment confirmation details. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; payments are processed by our payment providers.
  • Communications – messages sent via our contact form, reviews, survey responses and customer-service chats.
  • Device and usage data – IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, referring URLs, and clicks.
  • Marketing preferences – whether you've opted in to email or SMS marketing.

We don't intentionally collect sensitive information (as defined by the Privacy Act). Please don't send us sensitive information unless we specifically request it.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us; automatically when you browse our site (via cookies and analytics tools); and from third parties such as payment providers, freight carriers and fraud-prevention services.

4. Why we use it

We use your information to: process orders, take payment and arrange delivery; create and manage your account; provide customer service; send order confirmations and dispatch notifications; send marketing communications where you've opted in; personalise your experience; secure and improve our website; detect and prevent fraud; and comply with our legal obligations.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information with trusted third parties who help us run the business — including our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment processors (Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay), shipping carriers (Australia Post, StarTrack), marketing and email platforms (e.g. Klaviyo, Mailchimp), analytics providers (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel), and professional advisors. Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Cookies and tracking

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your cart, measure traffic and (where you allow it) show you relevant ads. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

7. Marketing communications

If you've subscribed to our emails or SMS, we'll send you news, offers and product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or replying STOP to an SMS.

8. How we store and protect your information

We store information on secure servers and use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls and regular security reviews. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out above, or as required by law.

9. Your rights

Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you; ask us to correct, delete or restrict it; opt out of marketing communications; and make a complaint about how we've handled your information.

To exercise any of these rights, please get in touch via our contact form and mark your message as a privacy request. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.

10. Children

Our site is intended for users aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

Terms & Conditions

These Terms govern your use of obsessedhaircare.au and any purchases you make through the site. By browsing or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. About us

obsessedhaircare.au is operated by the team behind Obsessed Haircare in Australia.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or have a parent or guardian's permission) and able to enter into a binding contract to buy from us.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for any activity on your account. Trade customers may need to verify their credentials before they can access trade pricing.

4. Products

We do our best to describe our products accurately. Colours, finishes and pack sizes may vary slightly from the images on the site. Always read the label, perform a patch test where recommended, and stop using a product if you experience irritation.

5. Pricing and GST

All prices on the site are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. If we discover a pricing error after you place an order, we'll contact you to either confirm the corrected price or cancel and refund the order.

6. Orders and acceptance

When you place an order, you're making an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we dispatch the goods. Until then, we may decline or cancel an order — for example if a product is out of stock, the price was wrong, or we suspect fraud.

7. Payment

We accept payment through the providers shown at checkout (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay). Your payment details are processed securely by these providers; we don't store full card numbers ourselves.

8. Shipping and risk

Delivery is covered by our Shipping Policy. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

9. Returns, refunds and the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. In addition to your statutory rights, we offer change-of-mind options on selected items. Please contact us via our form to discuss your situation. Products generally need to be unopened, unused, in original packaging and returned within a reasonable time. We can't accept returns of opened personal-care or professional chemical products for hygiene and safety reasons.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the site — including logos, branding, product imagery, copy, design and the "Obsessed", "Obsessed Haircare" and "IdHAIR" names — is owned by us or our licensors. You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially exploit any of our content without our prior written permission.

11. User content and reviews

If you submit reviews, photos, comments or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, edit and display that content in connection with our business.

12. Website use

You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes. You must not attempt unauthorised access, introduce malware, scrape content in bulk, or impersonate another person.

13. Third-party links

The site may link to third-party websites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices.

14. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer rights you have under Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any product is limited (at our option) to replacing the product, supplying an equivalent product, or refunding the price paid; and we're not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental or special losses.

15. Force majeure

We're not responsible for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, carrier delays, supply-chain disruption or government action.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time of your order is the version that applies to that order.

Shipping Policy

We're a small Australian team and we work hard to get your Obsessed Haircare order to you quickly and safely.

1. Where we ship

We currently ship to addresses across Australia, including PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers where the carrier supports them. We're not shipping internationally at this time.

2. Processing times

Orders are usually picked, packed and dispatched within 1–2 business days of being placed. Orders placed on weekends or Australian public holidays are processed on the next business day.

3. Shipping options and rates

  • Standard shipping — flat rate $12, sent via Australia Post or StarTrack.
  • Express shipping — flat rate $17.95, available to most metro postcodes.
  • Free Standard shipping on orders over $75.

4. Estimated delivery times

Once dispatched, you can typically expect:

These are estimates provided by our carriers, not guarantees.

5. Tracking

As soon as your order ships, you'll get an email with a tracking number and a link. If you have an account, you can also see your orders and tracking by logging in.

6. Authority to Leave (ATL) and signatures

By default, deliveries may require a signature. You can choose Authority to Leave at checkout if you'd like the carrier to leave your parcel without a signature. Risk passes to you once the parcel is left, so use ATL at your own discretion.

7. Incorrect addresses and changes

Please double-check your shipping address before completing checkout. If a parcel is returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address, we'll contact you to arrange re-delivery (a re-delivery fee may apply) or a refund of the product cost (less original shipping).

8. Lost or delayed parcels

If your tracking hasn't updated for more than 5 business days, or your parcel is showing as delivered but you can't find it: check around your delivery location and with neighbours; contact your local Australia Post or StarTrack outlet with your tracking number; and if it's still missing, get in touch via our contact form with your order number.

9. Damaged or incorrect items

If your order arrives damaged, or you've received the wrong product, please contact us via our form within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos. Please keep the original packaging until your claim is resolved.

10. Trade and bulk orders

Salon and trade orders are dispatched on the same schedule. Larger orders may ship in multiple parcels.
